This is a feature request, or an upgrade to an existing feature request in case a more robust import UI has already been requested.
I want to make text files with tab delimiters or pipe delimiters that can contain any and all of the fields in the iGTD database.
e.g.
Name | Context | Project | Priority | Start date | Due Date | Task notes | links | tags | contacts
Hinduism Today Rich Media Viewer| Office-AM | Digital Edition | 1 | | | Plan out the way to handle multiple media files for a single article in the UI | | |
The typical import Wizards used in "Now Uptodate" and other old Mac organizers used to look something like this, where the first line of the data was parsed by the delimiter which was customizable and then displayed like:
Incoming Text file Upload Field Order
Hinduism Today Rich Media Viewer --> Name
Office-AM --> Context
etc.
the order of the incoming (or upload fields) could be re-arranged and some upload field could be removed... etc. then an import could upload as many or a few fields as the incoming data required and the incoming data order was now constrained to any particular order...
Good luck! I've only used iGTD for two days and I'm already in love with it!
